Faith Infotech launches Employability Enhancement Programme

Tvm: The Technopark based Faith Infotech today announced the launch of an Employability Enhancement Programme with city based Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology. As per the MoU, Faith Infotech would provide IT industry practice for their students.

The MCA students and Engineering Students of the Information Technology & Computer Science branches from the Lourdes Matha College would spend one week each at the end of every semester in Technopark as a continuous internship programme. The first batch of 60 students will start their programme on January 27, 2011. Depending on the success of this pilot project, it will be extended to other streams.

Saji Joseph, Director & CEO, Faith Infotech said, “As the students spend time in Technopark, they will get to know the ambience of the IT industry. This will ensure exposure and employability. The idea is to catch them young but at the same time we are not a finishing school for them. The emphasis is on understanding industry best practices, learning by doing and systematic approach to real world problem solving.”

Fr. Dr. John V Thadathil, President, Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology said, “Ours is the first institute to come out with this kind of an industry training and we believe this will help in increasing the employability and thereby the placement opportunities of our students”.

The professional exposure to the IT industry environment, technology and process is expected to increase the confidence and motivation of these students, thus bridging the employability gap between academia and industry.
