Kerala Government portal gets a new avatar


Tvm: The renovated portal of the Kerala Government was launched today by Chief Minister Shri V S Achuthanandan in Thiruvananthapuram. The website ( being managed by the Information & Public Relations Department (I&PRD) is designed and developed by C-DIT.

Inaugurating the website, the Chief Minister said, “With the launch of this new portal, the Kerala Government portal moves to Free and Open Source based software (FOSS) and Content Management Framework (CMF). The website which has designed to give maximum information on Government and Departmental Orders (GOs) would increase transparency in Governance. The portal would also serve as a gateway for all the e-Services of the Government”.

Earlier, in her welcome speech, Sheela Thomas IAS, Principal Secretary, I&PRD said, “The launch of the revamped portal will remove the notion that government websites contain outdated information. The website would act as a one-stop-shop for all government related information to the citizens.

The site has been designed in such a way that to ensure fast and up to date dissemination of information, updating of content to the portal is now decentralised and every Government Department can update their contents from their respective offices. K Jayakumar IAS, Additional Chief Secretary; Manoj Joshi IAS, Director, C-DIT and M Nanda Kumar, Director, I&PRD were present on the occasion.
