Tvm: The State wide roll out of KSEB’s SMS based complaint registration service for power supply interruption was inaugurated by the Power Minister, Shri Aryadan Mohammed at the Kerala State Electricity Board headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on September 01, 2011, as part of the UDF Government’s 100 day programme. KSEB is using the m-Governance short code platform developed by the Kerala State IT Mission for this service.
Speaking at the function, the Minister said, “The SMS service will open up an additional method to address the issue of consumers regarding registering complaints. People usually grumble that nobody picks up the phone or the number is always busy at KSEB when you want to complaint if there is no power. Consumers should however note that, as of now, this SMS service deals with only power supply interruption complaints”.
Consumers will have to send the SMS to 537252 with the four digit code of their section and their Consumer number in the format: ‘KSEB Section Code Consumer No.’. The next Electricity Bill will have details about the SMS format and the Section Codes. KSEB hopes to attend to the complaint within three hours and the consumer will get an SMS when the complaint has been rectified. The SMS will be charged @ Rs.2 for BSNL subscribers and Rs.3 for others. In case the consumer is not happy with the service, he can call the toll free number 155333 for further assistance.
KSEB had launched this project in its Thiruvananthapuram Division on August 19 and the response was tremendous.
