Tvm: In a bid to bring in more transparency in public life, the details of personal assets and wealth of all Ministers, their Personal Staff and Officials of Government Departments in Kerala have been put online. The details were published today on the Web Portal for Disclosure of Personal Assets (pa.kerala.gov.in). Chief Minister Shri Ooommen Chandy had announced this initiative, as part of the 100 day programme of the UDF Government.
While Ministers, Personal Staff of Ministers, Head of Departments and Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers have disclosed details about their assets, the details of All India Service Officers in Kerala like IAS & IPS are missing from the website. Asset details of Officials from the Departments of Finance, General Administration, Law and Tourism have also been uploaded on the website. The details of assets of Officials from the remaining Departments, Advocate General, Government Law Officers and their families will be uploaded soon. The Government wants the system of registering asset details of Government servants annually to be made stringent.
Announcing the 100 day programme of the UDF Government, the CM had said, “Transparency is the hallmark of this Government. The development programmes targeted to be completed within the first 100 days will be built on the plank of transparency.”
This is the first time that assets of Ministers in Kerala have been put in the public domain. Earlier this information was only available with the Election Commission based on the details filed by candidates during elections.
