SCMS to host International Conference on Web Services Computing



Kochi: The Department of Computer Applications at the SCMS School of Technology & Management, Kochi is organising an International Conference on Web Services Computing. The two days conference will be held on October 14-15, 2011 at the SCMS campus. The major highlight of the conference will be 23 Paper Presentations by researchers in the field of Web Services Computing. The conference proceedings will be published as a special issue of the International Journal of Computer Applications (IJCA).

According to Indu Nair, Conference Convener & Director, SCMS Group of Educational Institutions, “The main objective of the conference is to provide a platform for discussing and exchanging views on various Web Services Computing techniques and their applications by academicians, researchers, and practitioners. Participants will have an opportunity to share their knowledge, views and research findings and build networks with professionals of similar interests. We are in receipt of research papers from across India and abroad.”

In the inaugural session, senior Tech Journo & Editor of India Tech Online, Anand Parthasarathy will speak on the huge opportunity thrown up by recent developments on the Internet, particularly the ability to harness the web to deliver a variety of services. Prof. Chandana Unnithan, Deakin University, Australia; Dr. K Poulose Jacob, Professor & Director, School of Computer Science Studies, CUSAT and John Tom Rajendran, Architect, Microsoft, Hyderabad are some of the speakers for the conference.

The conference will focus on web services standards and formalisations, web services modelling, semantics in web services, web services supporting cloud computing, web services QoS (e.g., security, performance, reliability, fault tolerance, etc.).
