Tvm: The ‘Mid-Career interaction between Armed Forces and Civil Services Officers on Cyber Security’ concluded today at the Institute of Management in Government at Thiruvananthapuram. About 25 senior officers from the Armed Forces and Civil Services (IAS, IFS & IPS) attended the two day workshop on Cyber Security which was sponsored by the Department of personnel & Training, Government of India. The session was inaugurated by Dinesh Sharma IAS, Principal Secretary to CM, GoK on January 06, 2012.
Information Security, Security Auditing, Cryptography & Digital Signature, Cyber Law, Protection of Intellectual Property, Internet Protocols, Cyber Forensics and Cyber Crime Investigation were the topics handled in eight sessions spread over the two days. The interaction between Armed Forces and Civil Services Officers was expected to come out with solutions to tackle the new generation crimes like cyber crimes – hacking, cyber terrorism, cyber stalking, identity theft, infringement of Intellectual Property, etc.
Dr. V Vijayakumar, District & Sessions Judge, Kochi; Anand Parthasarthy, veteran IT Journo & MD, India Tech Online; Dr. K Santhanaraman, State Informatics Officer, NIC Kerala; N Vinaya Kumaran Nair, AC, Hitech Cell, Kerala Police and K Satheesh, Scientist, C-DAC, Trivandrum were some of the resource persons. The course was being conducted under the leadership of Dr. A Prasanna, Principal, Government Law College.
