UST Global conducts talent hunt for Government school children


Tvm: As part of its community reach out programmes to transform lives, UST Global, a leading IT services company in Kerala, conducted a talent hunt for students of Government schools in and around Thiruvananthapuram Corporation area. The competition is planned to be amongst the children of three categories – Lower Primary, Upper Primary and High School / Higher Secondary and finally two schools; one Champion and one runner-up will be identified.

The first session of the three week long ‘Talent Hunt’ programme was held on January 26, 2012 at the company’s centre in Technopark, Trivandrum, on the occasion of Republic Day with the competition being for the ‘Higher Secondary’ category. Various competitions like Essay writing, Elocution, Skit, quiz and painting competitions were held as part of the ‘Talent Hunt’. UST Global aims at recognising and awarding six winner schools; two schools in each category. Similar activities will be conducted for the other two categories as well and the events will be organised in the second the third week of February 2012.

The ‘Higher Secondary’ category saw children participate in Elocution on the topic ‘Negative sides of alcohol and drug usage’ in English and Malayalam. Skit preparation and presentation on Environment Conservation was also held in English and Malayalam. A quiz competition on general awareness was conducted in Malayalam. The essay writing was on the topic ‘Green House Effect’ in English and Malayalam. The painting competition didn’t have any specific topic.
