Tvm: Aptara, the US based leader specialising in digital content solutions for the publishing industry, has opened its third facility in Technopark, Trivandrum. The new office at the Leela Infopark building in the Technopark campus was inaugurated today by Jacob Punnoose IPS, DGP, Kerala. The company plans to hire 500 professionals this year. Aptara started its Trivandrum operations in 2009 and also functions out of the Nila and Thejaswani buildings in the campus.
Interacting with the media, Dev Ganesan, President & CEO, Aptara said, “We are pleased with our operations in Trivandrum and it is our fastest growing location. We already have about 500 employees here and we plan to double it by the end of this year. We hope to add another 1,000 next year and be 2,000 by the end of 2013. We transform content from print to online and focus on multi-channel delivery. The digital marker is exploding and we are catering to the high end leading edge work and a good part of this work is happening in Trivandrum.”
Founded in 1988, Aptara employs over 5,000 professionals in India. The company had revenues of $82 million as on December 31, 2011 and has been growing at an average of 20% in the last 2 – 3 years. Aptara provides content creation, design and production services to 9 of the 10 largest publishers in the world including McGraw-Hill, Pearson, Thomson Reuters, Wolters Kluwer, Random House and Grupo Planeta.
Recently, Aptara was acquired by the London based conglomerate, iEnergizer. The merger has increased the number of employees to just over 11,000 worldwide. Aptara will continue operate under its current name and with its same leadership in place.
