Tvm: The Trivandrum based Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) is organising India’s first IEEE Circuits and Systems Outreach workshop on Machine Intelligence for high school students and teachers during May 18 – 20, 2012. The workshop is planned with a larger aim to improve the quality of students who intend to take electronics or computer systems themes as their career.
30 exceptionally bright students from 9th-12th classes will be selected from schools throughout Kerala to train them in implementing simple intelligent systems and algorithms. All students will be provided scholarships to attend the programme, and registration fees will not be collected from the participants. The workshop will give hands on experience in various image processing and pattern recognition techniques for high school students and teachers.
During the workshop, the students will be introduced to local research scientists from Industry and Academia, to share their insights and to enable them to think about a career in Circuits and Systems Society themes (CASS). The workshop will also provide a long-term forum for the students to interact with some of the leading research scientists and emerging thought leaders from around the world. This workshop would act as a programme to bridge the gap between the schools and academic research labs.
Interested schools can nominate two students and a teacher for IEEE CAS workshop on Machine Intelligence. To know more about the workshop and to register online, please check out cas-workshop.org. The last date for schools to register is April 15, 2012.
IIITM-K is a premier institution of excellence in Science, Technology and Management with its campus in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram.
