Kochi: Arbitron Inc., the US based international media and marketing research firm, has expanded its facility in Kerala in an effort to increase the scale of its India operations. Scott Henry, CIO of Arbitron opened the new facility at the L&T Techpark’s Tejomaya building inside the Infopark campus in Kochi last week.
The inauguration of this new facility gives Arbitron India an additional 20,000 sq. ft. bringing its total operational space in the L&T Techpark to 65,000 sq. ft. Arbitron started its India operations in November, 2008 with 16 employees and today, there are 250 employees and consultants. The new facility will help Arbitron ramp up its strength as per new project requirements in the future. The company plans to add another 50 resources in the next two quarters.
In a statement, Scott said, “Arbitron is always looking for ways technology can be leveraged to enhance our services, whether it be customer facing software applications or internal data processing systems. We’re also examining ways to use technology to translate the PPM service onto different platforms.” Arbitron India plays a key role in extending the uses of the company’s technology and provides operational support for the company’s Portable People MeterTM (PPM™) service, the leading portable, passive and personal measurement service.
