Kochi: For the first time, leading entrepreneurs and management gurus from across the country and outside will share their secrets of successful entrepreneurship with budding and aspiring entrepreneurs in Kerala. The new entrepreneurs can learn firsthand the intricacies of incubating an idea into a successful product or service and the ways of transforming start-ups into global ventures, here in October this year.
The platform for this international exposure is provided by TiEcon Kerala 2012, a national event to be held in Kochi on October 25-26, by the State chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), a global organization engaged in promoting entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking and education. TiEcon Kerala 2012 is organised on the lines of international conferences by TiE by involving global industry leaders and management thinkers.
John K Paul, President, TiE Kerala said, “The unique feature of the conference, which is held first time in a non metro city, is the opportunities for the new generation entrepreneurs to have pro-active interactions with world-renowned experts and successful entrepreneurs on translating their ideas into a business model, finding enough resources, improving the business strategies and understanding leadership challenges among others. TiEcon Kerala is being organized as a part of expanding activities of TiE and TiE Kerala chapter.”
The conference, the first and largest professional and networking conference for entrepreneurs in Kerala, will discuss different aspects of entrepreneurship. One-on-one mentoring sessions, sharing of ideas and methodologies by the experts, showcasing of successful business ventures, sessions on the emerging opportunities will be special features of the conference. The focus will also be on sectors that are greenfield today but hold immense scope for growth in the future.
Wg. Cdr. K Chandrashekar (Rtd), Executive Director, TiE Kerala said, “About 1,000 delegates including about 100 NRI entrepreneurs will participate in the two day conference. The event also provides opportunities to bring better awareness among the younger generation especially in the state about the role TiE plays in creating and fostering entrepreneurship across industries, business and geographies.”
The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region. There are currently 13,000 members, including over 2,500 charter members in 57 chapters across 14 countries. Dedicated to the virtuous cycle of wealth creation and giving back to the community, TiE’s focus is on generating and nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs. TiE Kerala chapter was formed in 2003.
