TiEcon Kerala 2012 logs on to cyberspace with website launch


Kochi: The stage is set for the largest ever gathering of entrepreneurs in the State in late October this year with the unveiling of TiEcon Kerala 2012 logo and inauguration of the event website today at Infopark, Kochi. The TiEcon Kerala 2012 logo was unveiled by Kochouseph Chittiappilly, Vice Chairman, VGuard Industries and the tieconkerala.org website was launched Shilen Sagunan, MD, Arbitron Technologies. A V George, VP, TiE Kerala & Chairman, AV George Group presided over the function.

In his address, George said, “The TiEcon Kerala will herald a new entrepreneurial culture across the state. The state has a traditional entrepreneurial culture which is mostly confined to trading and business. We lag behind other states in nurturing an entrepreneurial class cutting across society and geography. The new knowledge economy demands a strong entrepreneurial culture, especially among youth to succeed in new and existing business ventures. Our traditional strength also needs to be fully explored to enter emerging and fast growing areas of global economy”.

TiEcon Kerala 2012 which is scheduled to be held on October 25-26, 2012 at Kochi in Kerala is expected to attract about 1,000 entrepreneurs from across the country including NRIs drawn from different industries, business and professions. This is the first time TIEcon is hosted outside the metros of the country and first of its kind in the State.
The conference, which will have active participation of reputed and successful national and international entrepreneurs as speakers, will help to give a big push to the emerging entrepreneurial culture in Kerala. The young and the new entrepreneurs, especially from the State will have enough opportunities to interact with leading management thinkers and technical experts besides seek their mentorship.  

Mukund Krishnan, MD, Suyati Technologies; Kurian Abraham, Editor & MD, Dhanam Publications and Wg. Cdr. K Chandrasekhar (Rtd), Executive Director, TiE Kerala were among those present on the occasion.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region. TiE’s mission is to foster entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, and education. TiE Kerala, a chapter of TiE was formed in 2003.
