Kochi: TiE Kerala, the State chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs, will host the first TiEcon Kerala 2012, the largest ever gathering of entrepreneurs and professionals from across the country in Kerala at Kochi on October 25- 26, 2012. Chief Minister Shri Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the conference. The keynote address will be delivered by Ashok Rao, Chairman TiE Global, in the presence of Kanwal Rekhi, Founder Chairman, TiE Global & Managing Partner, Inventus Capital Partners.
In a release, John K Paul, President, TiE Kerala said, “TiEcon Kerala is being organised as a part of expanding activities of TiE Kerala Chapter. The conference, which is held first time in a non- metro city, provides great opportunities for the new generation entrepreneurs to have pro-active interactions with renowned experts and successful entrepreneurs. The conference will discuss different aspects of entrepreneurship, opportunities and challenges it provides. About 1,000 delegates are expected to participate in the two day conference. Many well known entrepreneurs from the country and outside will also share their experiences with the delegates.”
“The growing interest in entrepreneurship has prompted the Government of Kerala to support and participate in TiEcon Kerala 2012 and also to consider it as a follow up to the ‘Emerging Kerala’ initiative, he added.
The two day conference will have more than 20 sessions, run concurrently in four tracks and will focus on Entrepreneurship, Services, Manufacturing and Mentoring. The business sessions / sub sessions will cover the following key areas: How to convert an idea into a successful business, How to get funding for your business, Grow your small business and institutionalise it, Monetise and Exit Strategies, Tourism, Wellness, Ayurveda, Edupreneurial opportunities, Life Sciences / Neutraceuticals, Electronic & Bio Medical Industry, IT, Food & Agri Processing and Clean green technologies. There will be three key note address sessions on entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.
The conference also provides one-on-one mentoring sessions, sharing of ideas and methodologies by the experts, showcasing of successful business ventures and sessions on the emerging opportunities. The focus will be on sectors that are considered green field today but hold immense potential for growth in the near future.
