Trivandrum: Infosys recently organized a week long health programme at its centres in Technopark, Trivandrum; as a part of its Health Assessment & Lifestyle Enrichment plan (HALE) across its development centres in India. HALE has been a focused response to rising concerns on employee health and the impact of work stressors on Infoscions and their families.
The initiative strives to improve organizational productivity through healthy employees and has done pioneering work in the area of employee health (physical & mental), employee safety, encouraging leisure and creating a healthy work environment.
The HALE health week is organized annually and is aimed at enabling Infoscions and their families to take a more proactive approach towards their health. This year the health week was focused on themes like Skin, Hair and Beauty, Coronary & Diabetes Risk, Food Diet and Nutrition, Weight Management and Tobacco, Alcohol and Addiction. A variety of health checks, expert talks, consultations, fitness-related interventions, contests and awareness campaigns were held across Infosys campuses during the health week.
Infoscions at the Trivandrum development centre were able to avail one on one consultation with a dermatologist and gynaecologist for issues related to skin, cosmetology and pregnancy. In addition, sessions on stress management techniques and cardio-vascular diseases were also organized. An online quiz on cardio health ensured wider participation from employees in the DC. One of the major activities was free Health checkup camps for the employees as well as their families at the campus. All these activities were well received and saw participation from over 700 employees.
Infosys currently employs about 5,500 professionals across its two development centres in the Technopark campus and their own SEZ campus (Trinfy) in Technopark Phase II, in Thiruvananthapuram.
