Kochi: The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) will start an online database of Women Entrepreneurs. Announcing a website that contains details of women entrepreneurs and their units, Shri P H Kurian IAS, Principal Secretary – Industries & IT, said the website with an online database would help women entrepreneurs to connect and network with each other.

The Principal Secretary was summing up the one day Women Entrepreneurship Summit 2015 organised by KSIDC in Kochi.

“To start off with, the online database will have details of about 1,000 women entrepreneurs who attended the Women Entrepreneurs Collaborating and Networking (WECAN) initiative of KSIDC. The website would also help women entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and post requirements that are mutually beneficial”, said Kurian.

KSIDC would also conduct Management Development Programmes for Women Entrepreneurs in the next one year. The programme would have modules on Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource management and skill development. KSIDC would also organise sector specific entrepreneurial programmes to explore opportunities that can be beneficial for women entrepreneurs.

“Based on the feedback from the participants of the summit, KSIDC would also make available finance to scale up existing units at a lesser rate for a definite period. The Government would utilise financial institutions like Kerala Finance Corporation (KFC) to roll out this initiative”, he added.

Calling the day long Women Entrepreneurship Summit a grand success, Dr. M Beena IAS, Managing Director, KSIDC said KSIDC would soon tie up with partner institutions in the remaining six Districts to support the WECAN initiative. “We have already tied up with eight partner institutions for eight districts.
