Trivandrum: Computer Society of India, Trivandrum Chapter is conducting an International Colloquium – Workshop on the topic ‘Information Security in e-Governance’ organized as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Computer Society of India on November 25.
Since Government and other institutions are moving towards e-Governance to improve convenience, reduce time, and improve transparency, they are liable to get exposed to possible threats on information and security systems like fraud attacks, inadvertent virus, cybercrimes, and vulnerabilities. The Colloquium aims to educate the stakeholders and discuss about the latest issues, threats and mitigation measures.
The Colloquium will have eminent speakers from International and National institutions and the industry, taking through sessions like: ‘e-Governance Security – Current State’ and ‘e-Governance – Mitigation and Management’.
Information Security in e-Governance – A Law and Order Perspective by Manoj Abraham IPS, Inspector General of Police; Tools & concurrent Technologies in Information Security by Bhadran V K, Associate Director – Cyber Forensic, C-DAC; e-Governance security in the IOT era by Sabarish K, Senior Scientist, Head Information Systems Division, Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment; Interplay of Security & Governance by Dr. C L Ramakrishnan, IPS (Retd.), Director General of Police, Tamilnadu; Protecting Critical Infrastructure Against Advanced Cyber Threats by Prof. Prabath Lakmal Rupasinghe, Srilanka Institute of Information Technology, Colombo; and Industry Perspective by Amit Mehta, Country manager – Isilon, EMC are the sessions planned for the event.
