Chennai: Jio Chat, the instant messaging app from Reliance Jio Infocomm, is now available across nine countries – Canada, United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Africa, Singapore, Australia, China and India.
Jio Chat offers rich communication features for an enhanced experience. One can access this application through any Internet enabled smartphone (currently available on iOS and Google Playstore) over any data network.
Sharing more details, a spokesperson of Jio Chat said, “We are excited to launch our services in eight other countries apart from India as it will help in boosting our international presence and will also let our customers based in India to connect seamlessly with their folks abroad.”
Jio Chat also offers HD quality video and audio conferencing along with group chats, rich text features like file sharing, photo/video sharing, stickers, emoticons, doodles, media share, location share, pictures / video share, status share and more. It also offers channels which allow users to stay updated about their favourite celebrities, brands or even news as well. Users can also find special promotions in this section.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), is setting up an entire digital ecosystem consisting of pan-India high speed data network, specially designed devices to run on this network. RJIL has 2300MHz spectrum across the country and 800MHz or 1800MHz or both in 20 out of total 22 circles in the country. RJIL plans to use this spectrum to provide seamless 4G services using LTE. The company is expected to launch its 4G services in Kerala in early 2016.
Jio has created a legacy free, next-generation voice and broadband network which can be seamlessly upgraded even to 5G and beyond. It will be the only company in the world providing next generation digital services over an end-to-end all-IP network.
