Trivandrum: The Information & Communication Technology Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) is organising its first annual technology event, ‘Techathlon’ for its member institutes on January 16, 2016.
The contest is developed in line with the Employability Skills requirements of companies, where contestants are tested for their problem solving skills, coding skills, communication skills and inter-personal skills.
Five member teams from member colleges will contest in the regional round scheduled at three locations in Kerala. The finals will be held on January 28 at the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram. The winning team will walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh and the runners up will get Rs. 50,000 /-.
In a press note, Santhosh Kurup, CEO of ICTAK said, “We believe these competitions will help students to gain significant skills through peer learning and we look forward to a fantastic contest between teams”.
The ICT Academy of Kerala is a social enterprise created in a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model for imparting ICT skills to the youths of Kerala and to improve their employability opportunities in the industry. ICTAK is supported by Government of India and partnered by Government of Kerala and the established ICT Companies. ICTAK aims to emerge as the single-point establishment for all the ICT related capability building in Kerala.
