Trivandrum: The Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) has launched ‘EasyKYC’, an Aadhaar based online Proof of Identity solution in coordination with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
A one day workshop on ‘Aadhaar Integration in Service Delivery’ for Government Departments was also conducted in Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion. The objective of the workshop was to improve the level of understanding about Aadhaar related activities and also to improve the awareness of Aadhaar enabled services.
The workshop gave an overview of current status and future direction of Aadhaar enablement roadmap in Kerala. It was also an occasion to share best practices and learning’s of Aadhaar enablement in other States. It also helped understand needs, expectations, concerns and issues from departments with regards to Aadhaar enablement. A demonstration of Aadhaar enabled services was also held.
The resource persons were key Government officials from UIDAI who have been part of the Aadhaar implementation in other States. Officials from government departments and government institutions who provide citizen service delivery, Government Secretaries, Head of the Department, Mission Directors and Other Government Officials participated in the workshop.
According to K Mohammed Y Safirulla, Director, KSITM, by conducting the workshop, we were able to share best practices with regards to Aadhaar enablement, improve traction for Aadhaar enablement and getting buy-in from departments and other stakeholders, and address concerns, risks and challenges with regards Aadhaar enablement.
Jiji Thomson IAS, Chief Secretary to Government of Kerala; P H Kurian, Principal Secretary – Industries & IT; M V S Rami Reddy IAS, Deputy Director General, UIDAI; and Officials from UIDAI Regional Offices at Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh, were among the speakers.
