IBS Software inks 5 year deal with Korean airline major T’way


Trivandrum: Technopark based IBS Software (IBS) has been selected by Korean T’way Airlines as its Passenger Services System (PSS) provider for a further period of five years. The contract for the extension of the engagement was signed in Seoul by Hong-Geun Jeong, President & CEO, T’way and Ryo Funakoshi, VP & Head of Operations – East Asia, IBS.

The engagement will see T’way Airlines continue to use IBS PSS, iFly Res, for integrated reservations, ticketing, and departure control operations. T’way Airlines started operations in late 2010 and the IBS’ PSS platform was implemented a few months later. During the period, IBS supported T’way Airlines grow from 1.5 million to over 4 million Revenue Passenger Boarded (RPB). The airline is now poised to grow significantly with induction of additional fleet and opening of new routes.

The multi layered architecture and modular design of iFly Res will considerably augment the operational scalability of T’way Airlines to expand to newer markets and support increasing passenger volumes.
