Kerala State IT Mission completes 98.5% Aadhaar generation in Kerala

Trivandrum: Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM), the nodal agency for Aadhaar enrolment and Aadhaar based services in Kerala, has completed 98.5% of Aadhaar generation in the State, as per the details from Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Akshaya Centres under KSITM’s Akshaya Project undertakes most of the Aadhaar enrolments. Currently the main focus is on enrolment for 0-5 years old, Bedridden / Challenged and others who are yet not enrolled.

According to a note from KSITM, the agency provides a host of services related to Aadhaar in conjunction with different stakeholders. Aadhaar based services like e-KYC and Authentication offered by KSITM can be availed by all Departments / Institutions under the State Government. These services can be used to confirm / verify the identity of a person. This will avoid the need for submission / safekeeping of multiple identity documents by residents and departments. KSITM also provides technical advice and support in the integration of these services with e-Governance software applications of government departments / institutions.
