Little KITE members Training Camps from 26 December onwards


Trivandrum: KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education) has made elaborate arrangements for two-day training camps for 5,710 Little KITEs members from December 26, 2018, onwards, to empower them to create contents for school news and activities along with digital content creation as part of their learning.

The training materials for the camps have been categorised into various topics such as identifying news contents, preparing scripts, digital camera operations, photography, video shooting, audio recording, audio mixing, video editing, titling, anchoring etc. KITE has also made arrangements for uploading the digital contents developed by Little KITEs members after the training, to a Central server through the digital network available in all Hi-Tech schools.

K Anvar Sadath, Vice Chairman & Executive Director, KITE, “We have deployed DSLR Cameras to 4,578 High Schools and Higher Secondary schools in the State, as part of Hi-Tech school project. Detailed guidelines for operating and proper up keeping of these cameras has also been provided. KITE has given Camera training to one selected teacher from schools in addition to training on the creation of digital contents of academic nature to be uploaded in the Samagra resource portal. The vacation training camps for digital content creation for KITE VICTERS and for Schools news is in addition to the above training.”

KITE completed the specific training for 532 trainers who would be spearheading the vacation training camps in as many as 266 centres. Such training would be first of its kind in the Country, where digital content development training exclusively based on Free Software based multimedia graphics applications covering the entire process of news making, starting from identifying the news contents to its broadcasting, is conducted at such a massive level.

The State-level inauguration of the training camps would be done by the Minister for Education Prof. C Raveendranath at Thiruvananthapuram.
