Tvm City Police set to enhance Cyber Café Security


Tvm: The Thiruvananthapuram City Police in association with Ideacts Innovations, an Internet solutions company is set to enhance Cyber Café Security in the city with the introduction of a Café Management software.

Speaking at an interactive session on Cyber Café Security and Management held at the Armed Reserve Camp in Trivandrum, Ch Nagaraju IPS, DCP (Law & Order) said that as per the IT Act Amendment 2008, Cyber Café Owners are responsible for maintaining electronic records of their customers and they are liable for any cyber crime arising from their premises. “The new software will make life easy for Café Owners and Customers while helping law enforcement agencies in case of any investigation. The Café owners will be given a month’s time to install the software”, he added.

Krishna Swami, Head (Retail), Ideacts Innovations demonstrated the café management software which has a simple registration process generating a Customer ID and this is ID is valid across any browsing centre that uses the software, thus proving beneficial to roaming customers. It also has several tools and reports to manage the browsing centre.

The session was attended by senior police officials and a large number of browsing centre owners. The Clinck Cyber Café Manager software is available for free download. The software is being used by several browsing centres across Kerala.
