Trivandrum: IP500 Alliance, a Germany based industry alliance that has formulated standards for the use of wireless communication networks in commercial / residential buildings, and has more than 60 members and organisations across America, Europe and Asia, will be setting up their office in Trivandrum.
This was announced by Helmut Adamski, the Chairman of IP500 Alliance, who visited Kerala last week. Trivandrum will be latest place outside Europe, US and Japan to have an establishment of the IP500 Alliance which has its headquarters in Berlin.
India is the newest country to join in this alliance. Vinay Agarwal is the President for IP500 India and Arun George, MD of Avant Garde Innovations, had taken the initiative for the IP500 Alliance to be established in Kerala and had organised meetings between Helmut and various State Government officials of Kerala.
During his visit here, apart from the Industry and Clients, Helmut had meetings with Shri P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for IT & Industries, GoK; P H Kurian, IT Secretary; V R Balu, MD of Kinfra – KEPIP; C Prasannakumar, MD of Keltron and B Ramani, ED of CDAC, Thiruvananthapuram.
According to Arun, “The meetings we had were to propose and discuss with the Kerala Government about the launch and introduction of IP500 Alliance in Kerala and India. The Government has shown high interest and extended its full support for this. The actual inauguration will be held shortly. Various proposals have been put forward to us by Government department heads as to where to base our office and we will take a final decision soon”.
The IP500 Alliance is an open, international association of leading OEMs and system manufacturers that has established a standardized, reliable open meshed wireless smart device network for applications such as commercial or enterprise buildings and for building automation. Accordingly, the IP500 Alliance is fully driven by OEMs, their applications and market segments. This provides significant business opportunities based on its common wireless platform for smart devices.
This standardized wireless solution enables its members to deploy reliable, cost effective and low power wireless mesh networks for smart device applications, yet still be able to integrate into existing solutions, such as wired IP-based networks.
